At the inaugural HSR Prototype Challenge presented by IMSA at the iconic Sebring International Raceway, The Wolf Motorsports #25 Ligier LMP3, driven by Alexander Koreiba and James French, kicked off the weekend on a promising note. Dominating the practice sessions, they set the pace by leading in Free Practice 1 and securing a strong second position in Free Practice 2. Their momentum carried on Saturday morning when driver Alexander Koreiba delivered a scorching lap, clinching pole position aboard the #25, setting the stage for an exhilarating race ahead.
As the green flag waved, Koreiba engaged in fierce battles with rivals throughout his initial stint. When a caution period ensued, he swiftly navigated into pit lane for crucial fuel and tires, marking their first pit stop of the day. Resuming the race after the stop, Koreiba showcased remarkable endurance by completing a double stint behind the wheel, strategically preserving the car's tires for teammate James French to bring it home at the checkered flag.
During the final set of pit stops, Koreiba handed over the reins to French, who embarked on the final leg of the race. Exiting pit lane after the last stop, French rejoined the track just ahead of the second-place competitor. What followed was a gripping duel between French and his rival, unfolding over the last 10 intense minutes of the race. With the pressure mounting and tire wear becoming a factor, French valiantly defended his position until the final laps, where an epic showdown unfolded at Sebring's renowned "Bishops Bend" corner.
Despite a valiant effort, the #25 narrowly missed the top spot, crossing the finish line in a commendable second place, securing a well-deserved podium finish. Undeterred, the team remains resolute and eagerly anticipates the next battleground at Road Atlanta from April 25th to 28th, determined to continue their pursuit of victory.
